Woking and Sam Beare Hospice have begun the exciting journey of merging their in-patient and day care services and will be opening their new hospice building in the Spring. Their new hospice will allow their staff to deliver everything patients need and will allow them to dramatically improve their service for the community. The new In-Patient Unit will have 20 purpose built, private, en-suite bedrooms with family accommodation in each room, which means that, for the first time, families will be able to stay with their loved ones as long as they wish. There will be a new Wellbeing Centre where even more patients can receive a wider range of physiotherapies, complementary therapies, specialised bathing facilities and clinical support and advice, as well as benefiting from meeting others.
Greenoak Community Focus have donated £4,000 towards the hospice’s Nurses Wishlist Appeal , which has helped to fund the purchase of powered reclining chairs, sofa bed, over bed tables, personal fridges and visitors chairs, and other specialist furnishing for their new state-of-the-art bedrooms to make them the very best they can possibly be for the Hopsice’s patients and their families.
